Napa Zin ready to crush

1999 ZINFANDEL

NAPA VALLEY

WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
A burst of floral and fruit aromas leads to lively blackberry and raspberry flavors characteristic of much Napa fruit. Cherry, vanilla and spice join in the mid-palate, and lead to a crisp finish. Excellent with food but also a pleasure to sip just by itself.

APPELLATION:
Napa Valley

VINEYARDS:
The vineyard is situated on a bench above a small creek in the eastern part of Napa Valley. The generally rocky soil and slightly higher temperatures, compared to western Napa Valley, contribute to the intensity of the fruit.

VINTAGE:
The grapes used in this wine, from the rockiest part of the vineyard, were slow to ripen. Moderate yields and a long hang time, until late October, contributed to greater complexity but without sacrificing acidity.

COMPOSITION:
Zinfandel 100%

AWARD:
