DRY
CREEK VALLEY
WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Intense violet and berry fruit aromas are followed by lush
and complex layers of raspberry, blueberry and spice. A
long and subtly tannic finish carries earthy, peppery notes;
a full bodied yet elegant wine that will age gracefully.
APPELLATION:
Dry Creek Valley (Sonoma County)
VINEYARDS:
J. Teldeschi Ranch, located on the east side of Dry Creek
Valley, from well established vines up to 80 years old.
VINTAGE:
A long, mild growing season allowed the grapes to ripen
slowly and fully in 1999, making it nearly a "textbook"
year. The sugar levels were higher than the two previous
years, but were balanced with good acidity. The third generation
grower picked the grapes based on flavor and concentration,
yielding an excellent example of this vineyard and Dry Creek
Valley fruit.
COMPOSITION:
Zinfandel 88%, Carignane 10%, Petite Sirah 2% (all from
J. Teldeschi Ranch)
